Patterson Says New Show 'Zoo' Is Full Of Thrills

PITTSBURGH (NewsRadio 1020 KDKA) - New York Times best-selling author James Patterson is known all across the globe for his books. Many of them have been turned into movies and one of his dozens of books has been made into the summer's hottest new show.

He joined "The KDKA Morning News" to talk about 'Zoo."

The show is about a worldwide phenomenon in which animal attacks are starting to be reported all over the globe.

While the show is a thriller, Patterson says, "It's scary, but not too scary. It's one of these great, big summer blockbusters; get out the popcorn kind of thing. It's like 'Jurassic World,' except that there is more mystery."

He also says that the show will not be "in your face," but exciting right from the get go.

He adds graphics are very visual, but he does not feel that they are very scary graphics.

With Patterson being known for the Alex Cross series, he says "Zoo" is the one that is the most different for him. He never saw anything or read anything about it and that prompted him to write it.

"This isn't realism, but it is nice fiction, sort of a scary fable," Patterson says about why he wrote it.

"Zoo" debuts on KDKA-TV Tuesday, June 30, at 9 p.m.

Listen to "The KDKA Morning News" with Larry Richert and John Shumway weekdays from 5 to 9 a.m. on NewsRadio 1020 KDKA.
