What To Know Before Seeing 4th Of July Fireworks

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – We got a sneak peek today of Saturday's July 4 fireworks.

Crews from Pyrotechnico in New Castle are busy setting up for the big event.

The fireworks are set up on three barges parked on the Ohio River.

About 4,000 pounds of explosives will be used throughout the 23-minute display.

Organizers say it's one of the biggest and best shows in the country.

"We do 700 shows over this coming weekend, it's one of the top 10 in the United States," said Steven Vitale with Pyrotechnico.

And if you plan to watch the show, do not stop or park on the Fort Pitt or Fort Duquesne Bridges or the ramps nearby.

That's the warning from State Police who will be looking for traffic violators.

Thousands are also expected to crowd Mt. Washington to watch the fireworks.

If you're still looking for a place to watch, here's where to see fireworks tonight, listed by county:

Allegheny
Beaver & Butler
Fayette & Greene
Washington
Armstrong & Indiana & Westmoreland
