Man Dies In Hospital After Being Hit By Train On South Side

SOUTH SIDE (KDKA) – A man died after being hit by a train on the South Side early Sunday morning.

According to police, the incident happened on the CSX train tracks behind the Wharton Square Giant Eagle around 4 a.m.

A 23-year-oid man from Beaver Falls was transported to UPMC Mercy Hospital in critical condition. He later died around 5:30 a.m.

The victim's name has not been released at this time.

Police have not yet determined why the man was on the tracks.
