Parks Department To Host Free Youth Dek Hockey Clinics
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) - The Allegheny County Parks Department will hold eight free dek hockey clinics this summer.
The clinics are for boys and girls ages 4-15, and will be held at the new dek hockey rinks in North Park and Settlers Cabin Park.
Participants may attend as many clinics as they like. Pre-registration is recommended.
All participants should bring their own helmet with cage, shin guards, elbow pads and stick. Goaltending equipment will be provided.
The North Park and Settlers Cabin Park dek hockey rinks were constructed as part of the Pittsburgh Penguins Foundation's Project Power Play initiative.
This $2.3 million effort is funded by the foundation and Highmark to build 12 dek hockey rinks in the region over a three-year period.
Elevent have been built so far, and the final one in South Park will be completed by the end of 2016.

- Saturday, August 15, 10:00am - 12 noon
- Saturday, August 22, 10:00am - 12 noon
- Saturday, August 29, 10:00am - 12 noon
Settlers Cabin Park Dek Hockey Clinics
- Saturday, July 25, 1:00 - 3:00 p.m.
- Saturday, August 15, 1:00 - 3:00 p.m.
- Saturday, August 22, 1:00 - 3:00 p.m.
- Saturday, August 29, 1:00 - 3:00 p.m.
