Nanny Accused Of Stealing From Penguins Star Facing New Theft Charges

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – The woman accused of stealing from Penguins star Chris Kunitz while working as a nanny, has been charged again.

Police say 26-year-old Andrea Forsythe took items from another family she worked for as a nanny in North Fayette Township.

The family had been using Forsythe on an "on-call" basis and fired her when they found out she had been previously charged with theft.

She is accused of stealing numerous items including an iPad, pizza cutter, leather jacket, designer handbags and a Tempurpedic pillow.

After the complaint was filed, an officer visited the house where Forsythe was staying in Oakdale, and with the permission of the homeowners, found several items matching the descriptions of the ones reported missing.

Forsythe was arrested again and is now in the Allegheny County Jail on $10,000 straight bond.

In May, it was determined that Forsythe would be headed to trial for allegedly stealing $12,000 worth of jewelry from the Kunitz's home.

She additionally faced federal arson charges for a fire at her Collier Township home in January.
