Man Beaten, Girl Sexually Assaulted During Herminie Break-In

WESTMORELAND COUNTY (KDKA) – Police are looking for three men who robbed a home in Herminie, badly beating one man and threatening to rape a 10-year-old girl.

Police say the men broke into a woman's home on Lober Road. Inside the house were her two adult sons and two granddaughters ages 10 and 4.

The suspects held them up at gunpoint and beat one of the sons to the point that he had to be hospitalized.

Police say the group's ringleader fired a shot and ordered the 10-year-old girl to strip down. He then threatened to rape her if she didn't tell them where to find drugs and money.

Police say the girl took them to a car a pointed to change in the center console. They say one of suspects was mad that there wasn't more money and sexually and physically assaulted the girl.

"The ringleader, the black male that had threatened to rape her, took her outside while she was naked and the girl was pointing to the car, the money was in the car," said State Police Tpr. Steve Limani. "And of course, a 10-year-old, she was talking about the change in the console. That obviously wasn't what he was after. She tried to escape. At that point he time he grabbed her, physically assaulted her and had inappropriate contact with her."

After that, the men then stole some guns and small amount of money from the house and left.

Police say it appears the incident was drug-related.

The three suspects are described as:

  • Suspect No. 1: Black male, mid-30s, around 6 feet tall with a stocky build.
  • Suspect No. 2: Black male, mid-20s, between 160 and 170 pounds and about 5 feet 10 inches with dreadlocks.
  • Suspect No. 3: Black male, believed to be a teenager weighing around 165 pounds, also 5 feet 10 inches tall.

Police say they were seen leaving the house in a dark-colored pickup truck.
