Husband Shot In Head, Wife Held At Gunpoint During Uniontown Robbery

UNIONTOWN (KDKA) – Police in Uniontown are investigating a home invasion during which the suspects held the wife at gunpoint then shot the husband in the head.

Police say it happened Friday night. Nichol White was on her back porch when she was attacked.

Three men, all armed and disguised, ransacked her home. Police say her 2- and 3-year-old children were nearby. An 11-year-old boy hid in a closet.

Police say the men were asking for her husband, Chea, and threatening to take her child if she didn't tell them.

However, Chea came home while this was happening and was shot in the head as the three men were leaving.

Amazingly Chea survived and was flown to UPMC Presbyterian Hospital for treatment.

Police say the incident was likely not random. But neighbors still found the news unsettling.

"I have nine children here all the time, sometimes more," said Bobbie Snyder. "I've neer locked my doors. Now I lock my doors."

Chea is said to be in serious, but stable condition and is recovering from his gunshot wound.

Police are still looking for the suspects.
