Police: Fair Worker Charged After Running Down Man In Truck In Fayette Co.

DUNBAR TOWNSHIP (KDKA) -- A Fayette County Fair worker is facing charges after an argument turned violent.

State police say the incident happened not far from the Fayette County Jail.

According to state police, 26-year-old Ryan Graft was leaving the Fayette County Fair when he got into a verbal altercation with 54-year-old David Lee Weaver of Cape Coral, Florida.

Weaver was in town working for a vendor at the fair.

What exactly was said is unknown, but police say the confrontation resulted in Weaver getting into his Ford pickup truck and flooring it.

Investigator say Weaver, who was allegedly intoxicated, drove over Graft.

Graft, a Dunbar native, suffered a fractured skull and broken bones in his right side. He was flown to a hospital in Pittsburgh suffering from catastrophic injuries.

Weaver, who already has an extensive criminal record in Florida, was arrested and faces charges of felony aggravated assault with a motor vehicle while driving under the influence and other counts.

Graft was last listed in critical condition.

Weaver is being held on $35,000 bond in the Fayette County Jail.
