Training Camp Is Ending, But Mike Tomlin Doesn't Want To Leave

LATROBE (93-7 The FAN) – The Steelers hold their final day of training camp today and it appears the majority are ready to pack their bags, but head coach Mike Tomlin isn't ready to go just yet.

"Man, I could play out of Latrobe. I love the sterile environment, I love the singular focus associated with training camp." Tomlin said. "But I would imagine not many share my perspective."

As the end of training camp nears, offensive tackle Kelvin Beachum said he's looking forward to moving out of the dorm room and returning to his home.

"I can't wait to spend time with my wife and my daughter and sleep in my own bed, I think that's the most important thing for me is sleeping in my own bed," Beachum said.

Another part of home that he is looking forward to is playing at Heinz Field which he will get to do on Sunday at 1 p.m. against the Packers.

"We've been on the road for two games so it's good to be in our own stadium you know, and having our own fans cheer," Beachum said.

For rookie B.J. Finney the opportunity to play in a game at Heinz Field is all part of a dream he's already been living out at Steelers training camp.

"For me, it's been a dream come true," Finney said. "The next part of that dream is making the active roster, the next step after that is playing in a game and the next step after that is winning a Super Bowl."
