Fayette Co. Man Found Fatally Stabbed, Girlfriend Charged

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – A Fayette County man was found fatally stabbed early Saturday morning.

State Police say that 29-year-old Robert Lee Engle was found dead at his Ondrejko Road home that he shared with his girlfriend.

Police say Engle was found with stab wounds to the chest.

"He was pretty much on his last breath," said Joshua Bittinger.

Bittinger and Kayla Rankin have to live with the knowledge that Engle died on their front porch.

Around 4 a.m. they say he knocked on their door covered in blood.

"I didn't open the door, I just looked over and I seen blood all over his pants," said Bittinger. "That's when I grabbed the phone and called police."

Troopers said 45-year-old Lori Ann Tressler wasn't home at the time but was arrested Saturday afternoon.

"Feels bad not to be able to help somebody, especially when they live right there," said Rankin.

Tressler wasn't able to get very far before being arrested, as Rankin pointed her out to police.

The couple apparently had a history of domestic abuse. In August 2009 Tressler was charged with aggravated assault for stabbing Engle three times. Now she's charged with homicide.

State Police may have a second suspect, a man driving a red truck was arrested along with a juvenile passenger, after they tried to flee from the scene.

Neighbors say they were also home at the time of the stabbing.

It's unclear what charges they may be facing.
