Furry Tails: Dottie, Blaine & Rocky Are Waiting For Good Homes

Are you looking to bring a pet into your home? Local animal shelters are a great place to find a furry companion. So, as part of Furry Tails, I'll be doing an ongoing feature on adoptable pets from local animal shelters once a week. If you have room in your heart and are looking to bring a lovable ball of fur into your home, maybe one of these guys is meant to be a part of your family!

Dottie

Animal Friends
This fun-loving girl is a playful pup who loves people! She's waiting for a forever family to keep her busy and spoil her with lots of toys!

Animal Friends Pet Profile:
This perky-eared pointer can't wait to pack up her suitcase with her favorite toys and go to her forever home! Dottie is a people-oriented young gal who eagerly anticipates her next play date.

Dottie is actively working on developing house and leash manners. Although she is a bit excitable, Dottie has the potential to become a well-behaved family member through training using positive reinforcement techniques. Rawhides will work!

Although Dottie is playful with people, she can get a little nippy and isn't a big fan of bear hugs or cuddling. For those reasons, an appropriate home for her would include children older than 12 who will respect this cute canine's space. Dottie wouldn't mind sharing her home with another dog, but would prefer a home without cats.

If you can help, come to Animal Friends at 562 Camp Horne Road, Pittsburgh, Pa., 15237 or call 412-847-7002. For more information on how you can adopt any of the pets at Animal Friends, visit their website here!

Blaine

Western Pa. Humane Society
Blaine would love to take you for a walk! He's a handsome guy who needs a loving home where he can live out his golden years!

Western Pa. Humane Society Pet Profile:
Who says 13 is an unlucky number? In this case, 13 is how many years young Blaine is! Age is just a number, though, as you would never know that this handsome fellow is in his senior years. He is quite active still and likes to bounce around. Blaine likes to carry his leash in his mouth and walk you instead.

Blaine negotiates when you request behaviors by barking. It's bratty, but adorable. He had reportedly lived with other dogs and cats before. If you have other animals in the home, please speak to an adoption counselor about how to introduce them.

Blaine has a very nice temperament and is soft and engaging with people. Because of his older age, we feel that he would do best in a home with children over the age of 10. If you think that home could be yours, please come to the Western Pa. Humane Society to adopt Blaine today!
