Report: Steelers WR Martavis Bryant Suspended 4 Games

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Martavis Bryant has reportedly been suspended for the first four games of the NFL season.

That's according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Bryant has reportedly gained some 20-pounds of muscle during the offseason in order to up his game.

Bryant burst onto the scene in his rookie season last year, making his first appearance in week seven and catching six touchdowns in his first four games with the Steelers.

On the season, Bryant helped get the Steelers offense reach a new level as he contributed 26 catches for 549 yards and 8 touchdowns in just 10 regular season games.

Fellow wide receiver Antonio Brown talked about the offense taking a hit without Bryant.

"We are just excited for the guys that are going to be available, guys that are going to get some opportunities and I'm sure those guys are excited and we just got to show up with no excuses and be ready to play," Antonio Brown.

In the teams first round playoff loss to the Baltimore Ravens, Bryant recorded another 5 catches for 61-yards and a touchdown.

It is believed Bryant would take on an even bigger role in the offense this year.

"He's just a great player it stinks for him but next guy up got to move on," quarterback Landry Jones said.

Just yesterday Bryant topped the list of best NFL prospects by ESPN.

Fellow wide receiver Sammy Coates said, "I'm just going to keep getting better and if my number gets called I"m going to do my best."

The news of Bryant's possible suspension has Steelers fans already sounding off on 93-7 The Fan.

Mark called in to say the Steelers have lost their way under Tomlin.

95-year-old caller Cliff says the Steelers were out of control back in his day as well.

This has been a rocky week for the Steelers as a social media firestorm started when they signed Michael Vick on Tuesday.
