Steelers Fans Weigh In On Vick's First Game

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Steelers fans remain bitterly divided over the signing of quarterback Michael Vick.

Some say they can't forgive him for his convictions for running a dog fighting ring. Other say he paid a price and deserves a second chance.

We talked to Steelers fans during Saturday's games to see what they had to say.

Supporters and detractors got to watch the back-up quarterback in action for the first time in a Steeler uniform.

"Well, he's a Steeler. He's wearing a Steeler uniform. You have to cheer him on," said Dee Shultz. "If the administration believes in him, we have to too."

And if his performance is any indication, that 63-yard pass against the Bills, many say he'll do just fine backing up Ben.

Dale Skoff said, "Unless Big Ben gets hurt, he'll (Vick) be on the sidelines, so I don't think it'll have a real big effect once the season gets going."

Earlier this week, Vick told reporters he's here to work.

"I'm used to it, this is what I expect," he said.

"It's about business, not about his past," insisted Llyod Foster. "I think they made a smart decision. Let him score a couple touchdown. They'll be wearing Vick shirts."
