Latrobe Man Killed In Westmoreland County ATV Crash

DERRY TOWNSHIP (KDKA)- A man from Latrobe was killed when his ATV flipped over and rolled on top of him in Westmoreland County.

It happened around 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, about 200 feet from Chestnut Ridge Road in Derry Township.

Police say 49 year old Michael Winklosky and a friend were riding the quad. When they were towards the top of the hill, the ATV flipped over and rolled on top him. He suffered major trauma to his chest and the back of his head. Winklosky was pronounced dead at the scene.

His friend was able to jump from the quad as it began to roll. He suffered a broken ankle and was taken to Excela Health in Latrobe for treatment.

State police have ruled this death to be accidental.
