Ramon Foster: Timing Of Headset Issues Was Amazing

PITTSBURGH (93-7 The Fan) – For the second straight year, Steelers offensive lineman Ramon Foster will join The Fan Morning Show every Tuesday at 8:03 a.m. during football season.

This week, he made the first of his weekly appearances on the show, with his team turning the page from a loss in New England to a home matchup with the 1-0 San Francisco 49ers.

Foster told the guys that he thought the Steelers' offense looked good but didn't get the job done when it needed to against the Patriots.

"I think we came out quick enough, hot enough," Foster said. "We've just got to finish the drives. I think that's our biggest issue right there. We've got to be good on third down and in the red zone. That's my biggest take from the game right there, because we had the yards, we had the yards of a team that should have scored at least 35 points, but we didn't put that up."

Of course, the guys had to get Foster's take on the headset controversy that ran rampant in the days following the contest.

"I actually didn't hear about it until after the game," Foster said. "When you're trying to win a game, you're doing everything possible on your sideline to make sure that you're getting the plays in or the communication in. That's just a distraction right there. Whatever things the NFL or the home team can do to make sure that that doesn't happen- I think it should be prevented. It should be preventable in that type of situation right there, because it can't keep happening."

According to Foster, the issues were apparently at their worst at crucial points in the game.

"It's amazing how it always happened in situational football - third downs, or red zone, or goal line stuff, from my understanding of it," Foster said.
