Local Catholics Bring Spirit Of Pittsburgh On Trip To See Pope

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – A group of local Catholics have made their way to Philadelphia to see Pope Francis and they're bringing the spirit of Pittsburgh with them.

The group has "Francis No. 1" jerseys and even something they're calling "Terribly Faithful Towels" to wave.

But, that's not all.

During a pre-trip planning meeting, the group rehearsed a Pope-inspired song. The tune might sound familiar to fans of the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Watch to see the full song:

Even with 1.5 million people expected, Bishop David Zubik thinks the black and gold contingent has a good chance of attracting the pope's attention.

"So, the 'Terribly Faithful Towels?' How about that? All the people from Pittsburgh will be waving this, and we'll have to let the pope know exactly what this all means," said Zubik.
