Bus Aide Takes Deal On Charges Of Molesting Special Needs Student

ROSTRAVER (KDKA) – A local school bus aide is accused of sexually assaulting a child he was supposed to protect.

Ryan Scott Lint, 26, could have faced serious jail time, but Monday he cut a deal.

Scott walked out of what was supposed to be his preliminary hearing, after taking a plea bargain. The Smithton man initially faced indecent assault counts and corrupting the morals of a minor after he allegedly inappropriately touched a special needs child on a school van that Lint was on.

"It sickens me," said the victim's mother. "I don't know how anyone could do that to a child. I don't understand it at all."

She did not want her identity known.

"I don't really feel too good about it. I don't think justice was quite served," she added.

Instead of facing the felony indecent assault count, Lint pleaded out to a misdemeanor corrupting of the morals of a minor, two years' probation and now must register as a Megan's Law violator.

"That he was my son's monitor for a period of seven months," said another mother who thinks her son was also a victim of Lint's, "during that seven months, my son had severe, severe emotional and physical self-abuse."

"He was in Western Psych for 10 days," she added.

Making it harder for loved ones is what they say the Yough School District didn't do.

"And the fact that that was not presented to our family is just baffling and there are a lot of questions that aren't answered," said a family member.

The district isn't commenting on the matter.

Meanwhile, authorities say they expect more alleged victims to come forward.
