Beaver Co. Girl Knocks National Anthem Out Of The Park

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) –A girl from Beaver County stole the show at last night's Pittsburgh Pirates game.

Alexa Speicher, 10, sang the National Anthem before the game. Fans went crazy, especially when she saluted the Pirates' bench from home plate.

"I love the Pirates. They are my favorite. I love them so much," she said. "I think it went pretty good. I'm just so happy some of my friends and family came out to hear me sing."

When she was four, she decided she wanted to sing the National Anthem. She first heard it at her brother's football games at Riverside High School.

Alexa has been taking lessons ever since. She performs with a band and has spent time recording some songs. Who knows where it will lead, but she will never forget her performance at PNC Park.

"Very, very, very exciting. I'm just happy to be here," she said.

According to the Beaver County Times, Alexa got her big break over the summer when she sang at a community day event.

Someone who heard her helped arrange an audition for her to sing at PNC Park.
