Jerome Bettis Receives Hall Of Fame Ring At Halftime Ceremony
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- It was a special night over at Heinz Field Thursday.
Not just because it was a big rivalry game as the Steelers hosted the Baltimore Ravens.
There was a special halftime ceremony honoring one of the black and gold's all-time greats and fan favorite.
Newly-inducted Pro Football Hall of Famer Jerome Bettis, better known as "The Bus," got his Hall of Fame ring during the special halftime presentation.
The "Ring of Excellence" features a nearly two-carats of diamonds, arranged in the shape of a football.
The Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra performed as highlights of Bettis' career played on the stadium big screens. Former Steelers head coach Bill Cowher presented Bettis with the ring.
Bettis got his gold jacket at the Pro Football Hall of Fame induction ceremony in Canton, Ohio, back in August.
Bettis is the sixth-leading rusher in NFL history.
At the time he said, "It feels incredible, not pretty good, but incredible. Trust me, I know what pretty good feels like. This doesn't feel anything like that. This feels exceptional."
