Police: Woman Pretends To Be A Student, Assaults Principal And Security Officer

PITTSBURGH (KDKA)- A Pittsburgh woman was arrested, accused of pretending to be a student at a local high school and assaulting two employees.

According to the criminal complaint, 18 year old Corial Littlejohn walked into Perry Traditional Academy yesterday morning.

Assistant principal Stephanie Turnbull said she saw Littlejohn around 8:40 a.m. About 45 minutes later, Security Officer Robin Cummings asked Littlejohn if she attended the school, in which she said "Yes." Police say she pointed to a classroom she was going to and the security officer followed along. Once inside the room, the security officer asked the teacher if Littlejohn had class with him and he said "he had never seen her before."

The female began to walk away, and shoved assistant principal Stephanie Turnbull. Turnbull, the security officer and a Pittsburgh Police officer followed Littlejohn out of the school. The officer told her to stop and she was under arrest for assaulting the assistant principal.

Littlejohn kept walking, that's when the police officer tried to grab her wrist. Littlejohn screamed at the officer to get off her and refused to put her arms behind her back. When the officer tried to place handcuffs on her, Littlejohn bit the officer's hand and was able to break free. She then is accused of punching the security officer in the face multiple times.

Additional security was called to the scene and officers were able to get Littlejohn into custody.

Once in custody, Littlejohn claimed to be 16 years old and said she attended Brightside Academy. Officials checked, and nobody by that name attended Brightside. The officer was able to identify Littlejohn from a past incident, and she finally admitted to being Corial Littlejohn, 18 years old.

The spokesperson with Pittsburgh Public Schools issued this statement:

"Due to the diligence of Pittsburgh Perry School Security and staff an 18-year-old female was escorted off of the premises yesterday morning. The female entered the school during morning arrival and went through the standard school security process, which includes going through the school's metal detectors. As it's not unusual to receive new students at this time of year, school security staff questioned the female and it was determined that she was not enrolled at the school. Upon further questioning the 18-year-old became physically aggressive with school staff and had to be detained by school police. The 18-year-old female was transported to the Allegheny County jail and faces charges of aggravated assault, criminal trespass and resisting arrest."

School officials say Littlejohn hasn't been an active student of Perry High School since 2013.
