Creativity Flourishes At Pittsburgh's First Maker Faire

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – The Children's Museum was the place to be for one of the most unique fairs around.

It's called the Maker Faire.

It's part of a national movement taking place in cities across the US.

The gathering brings out tech enthusiasts, crafters, sewers, artists and anyone who makes things.

People of all ages from across the area were invited to take part. And there were many interesting things to see at the fair.

"There's the Gatling gun that's actually a rubber band gun, but it's a Gatling gun, so why? But it's so much fun," said Jane Werner with the Children's Museum. "There are these little cars that you'll see running around that are six horse power that you can ride. There are skateboards that have motors with them."

There were more than 225 exhibits, performances and presentations at the first official Maker Faire.
