Woman Killed In Crash Along I-70 In Rostraver Township

ROSTRAVER TOWNSHIP (KDKA)- A Warren County woman was killed in a crash along Interstate 70 in Rostraver Township.

The Westmoreland County Coroner identified the woman killed in the car accident as 20-year-old Aubrey Sonney. The accident happened just before 10:30 p.m. Sunday on I-70 West, near the on-ramp at State Route 201 (exit 43B).

The driver of the car is identified as Angela Cramer, 20, of McMurray.

Cramer was flown to Allegheny General Hospital to be treated for her injuries. Sonney was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to Pennsylvania State Police, Sonney was the front-seat passenger in the Pontiac Sunfire that went directly into the left lane after getting off the ramp onto I-70 West.

The Sunfire hit another car and both vehicles hit the concrete barrier. The driver of the second car wasn't injured.

A third car, a Chevrolet Impala, also traveling in the left lane of I-70 West, rear-ended the first car. State Police report that driver, from Washington, Pennsylvania, had moderate injuries.

The coroner reported that Sonney wasn't wearing a seatbelt.

It's not known if any of the drivers were using cell phones at the time of the accident.

Part of I-70 westbound was shut down for several hours while the accident was cleared.

There's no word if any charges will be filed.

Investigators will reconstruct the incident to try to determine the cause of the accident. An autopsy has been planned to determine the cause of death of Sonney.
