Get Marty: Political Signs Found In Local Cemetery

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Penn Hills residents outraged over illegally placed political signs in a cemetery.

"Politicians, it's win at any cost. Now they have stooped to such a low by desecrating a cemetery with their political signs," says Penn Hills Resident Gary English.

We found political signs all over the fences at the 200 year Old German Cemetery in Penn Hills. We also found out the signs are illegally placed.

"It's so disrespectful," says Penn Hills Democratic State Rep. Tony Deluca. As soon as we called Deluca he was on the phone with Penn Dot. Penn Dot workers had the signs removed from the cemetery within a few hours.

KDKA and Get Marty helped the Boy Scouts and Rome Monuments clean up the cemetery in May. The political signs got us involved once again.

"You have to get involved to get things changed the same way I do," says Representative Deluca.

People in the neighborhood are hoping the signs will stay where they belong.

Meantime, we do not know whether candidates or campaign workers put up the signs.
