Ramon Foster: I Expected Landry Jones To Be A Game Manager

PITTSBURGH (93-7 The Fan) – Steelers offensive lineman Ramon Foster didn't expect Landry Jones to do that.

Foster joined "The Fan Morning Show" for his weekly spot Tuesday morning and said he was surprised by Jones' 168-yard, two-touchdown performance in relief of Mike Vick in the Steelers' win over the Cardinals.

"His presence was good," Foster said. "I will say that. But, I'd be lying if I said that I was expecting him to do what he did. I thought he was going to come in and just do his job, and just hand the ball off, and throw the easy passes, and try to help us win. I didn't think that he was going to go full All-Pro in two quarters. He did a really good job, man. Kind of surprising, but I'm very happy for him, because he's been through a lot."

Even though it was Jones' first NFL game, he had command of the offense, according to Foster.

"He was giving out hots, and letting the receivers know where the hots where," Foster said. "He was calling it in a really good way. It looked like a guy that had been watching Ben for a few years, and that's always good, that he fully understood the playbook like that, and got us out with a win."

Foster doesn't know who will be the Steelers' starter in their next game against the Chiefs yet.

"I'm not even sure right now...we'll just wait and see until Wednesday I guess," Foster said.

Foster also touched on another hot topic - the discontent of star wide receiver Antonio Brown.

Foster hasn't paid much mind to the drama.

"I think with any number one receiver, they think they're supposed to get the ball every single time," Foster said. "I really don't pay much attention to it to be honest with you...you can't really pay much attention to it, because if you do, it will bring you into a part of it where you don't want to be at."

Foster thinks that Brown isn't all that different from most other star wide receivers.

"It's just receivers being receivers," Foster said. "I don't think that's an A.B. thing."

Foster can usually be heard Tuesdays at 8:03 a.m. on "The Fan Morning Show."
