Man Accused Of Sexually Assaulting 13-Year-Old Girl He Met On Social Media

BUTLER (KDKA) -- A man is now locked in the Butler County Prison, accused of sexually assaulting a 13-year-old girl he met on social media.

Chase Perry, 22, was arrested earlier this week and charged. Police say the alleged inappropriate relationship began in December 2014 and ended in May of this year.

The girl says Perry knew she was just 13.

"Wow, that's crazy. Not right man, not right at all. I would not expect that from him. That's shocking, very shocking," said Jeff Eberhardt, a former co-worker of the suspect.

The victim says Perry told her he was 16 when they began talking on Facebook last October and that he had just moved to Butler. But both were lies.

Police say he he worked at Pizza Joe's on Main Street in Butler.

Eberhardt: "I would say he was probably here for total of three years or more."

KDKA's Brenda Waters: "Really? As a driver?"

Eberhardt: "Yeah."

Waters: "And what kind of guy was he?"

Eberhardt: "Great guy, always came to work, did his job."

The girl told counselors from the Butler County Alliance for Children that each time she and Perry met, it was always between midnight and 3 a.m. She said she would always sneak out of her parents' house through her bedroom window and would re-enter the house the same way.

She says they had approximately five sexual encounters.

The victim says she found out Perry was 22-years-old on Facebook, questioned him about it, but never got an answer. She says it was then that she began communicating with Perry via text.

State police began the investigation last month when the girl's mother saw an illicit image on her daughter's iPod.

Perry faces several charges including statutory sexual assault and corruption of a minor. He is in the Butler County Prison on $50,000 bond.
