Officers Confiscate Drugs, Counterfeit Money After Police Chase

FOREST HILLS (KDKA) -- Police confiscated drugs and counterfeit cash from a driver who led them on a chase from Wilmerding to Forest Hills on Monday.

Police say when they tried to stop a vehicle in Wilmerding, the driver took off, eventually crashing the SUV in Forest Hills.

According to investigators, officers found 20 bricks of heroin, $3,000 in cash and $1,000 in counterfeit bills.

Police arrested the driver and his passenger. Both are from New Jersey.

"It's a moderate amount of heroin," said Officer Norman Locke, of the North Versailles Police. "They could have been going back to resupply, there may be another supply in the area. Unfortunately, I've said it so many times on television that heroin is beyond epidemic in this area, so where there's demand there will be supply."

Police say the traffic stop was part of a months-long drug investigation involving several departments.
