Popular Halloween Costumes Available At Local Store

PITTSBURGH (KDKA)- Scary costumes are always big at Halloween. But shops like Costume World track the latest trends.  This is the year of the popular Pontiff.

"I did three popes this week," says employee Greg Labon, dressed as Pope Francis.  "A guy came in, did a priest this afternoon.  I've got a nun coming in this afternoon.  So it's all about the Catholic costumes of Halloween."

A mask of Hillary Clinton's past meets a mask of Hillary's present. Manager Steve Fugee says it's a down-year for politicians, with one exception.

"If I had a dime for every phone call, 'Do you have a Donald Trump wig?'' I would probably have, maybe, fifty dollars."

The upcoming Star Wars movie has led to a run on related costumes. Then there's Lady Gaga in, "American Horror Story."

"We have a lot of the crazy makeup, as you can see," says employee Courtney Briskey-Santilli.  "She's a gorgeous woman and he has no fear of doing things.  And another thing a lot of the people like is the white golves where she cuts people's throats."

As for local flavor, customer Karen Newman says, "I'm from Mount Lebanon.  So obviously, I have deer antlers, and an arrow through the head."

The revolving door of public figures changes, year-to-year.  But we'll never get away from those old Halloween standbys.  Zombies, ghouls and goblins will never be gone for long.
