Ramon Foster: Bengals Will Look To Capitalize On Roethlisberger's Injury
PITTSBURGH (93-7 The Fan) – Steelers offensive lineman Ramon Foster joined "The Fan Morning Show" on Tuesday with a tough task ahead of him.
Foster and his fellow offensive linemen will be charged with protecting Ben Roethlisberger, should he make his return to the field this Sunday as expected. It's a particularly precarious task due to the risk of Roethlisberger re-injuring his knee if a Bengals defender bursts through the line and takes him down.
Foster said defenders won't have any sympathy for Roethlisberger's plight, and will likely try to take advantage of his handicap.
"They definitely don't feel sorry [for him]," Foster said. "I'll definitely let you know that for sure...I'm sure they're going to do some things to try to rattle him around, push him outside the pocket, make him be more mobile, and stuff like that."
Foster feels that making injury reports public makes life harder for players coming off an injury or playing injured.
"That injury report thing that they pass out daily, of people who've been practicing and not practicing and what for, it kind of bites you man," Foster said. "Because I've looked at it and saw that a guy had an elbow problem and, you know, if I can ever get my hand on his elbow, or at least punch it to aggravate him a little bit man, I think you take your shot."
That being said, Foster doesn't expect the Bengals to take cheap shots at Roethlisberger's knee.
"I don't think they're going to be trying to aim at his leg," Foster said. "But definitely, you pay attention to that thing, and they're probably going to try to rattle him."
