Steelers' Le'Veon Bell Host Inaugural Dinner For Local High School Athletes
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Steelers' running back Le'Veon Bell is helping out some local high school athletes.
He hosted his first inaugural "Bell's Boys" dinner at The Capital Grille in Downtown Pittsburgh on Tuesday evening.
Ten student athletes from Woodland Hills High School were invited to hang out with Bell, and talk about life after high school.
"Growing up, I wish I had something like this in my life, and the way I can impact other kids, I want to make sure I do that," said Bell.
The "leadership and mentorship program" is meant to encourage local teens to start planning for their future.
"To be here is a great privilege," said Richard Harris, a Woodland Hills junior. "Meeting Le'Veon Bell, being in a place like this, I really appreciate it. Part of me didn't feel like it was going to be meant for me or that I would have had to chance at something like this. So, I appreciate it."
Bell says he hopes to hosts more events like it throughout the year.
