Mt. Lebanon YouTube Sensation To Perform At Light Up Night

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- A Mt. Lebanon teenager named Daya has become a YouTube sensation. Thursday morning, she told a PPG Wintergarden news conference she'll be on stage for Light Up Night.

"I can remember going to Light Up night as a little girl and how magical it was," she said. "And it's so exciting to be a part of this."

Singer JoJo will also be in town for Light Up festivities.

Jeremy Waldrup, president of the Pittsburgh Downtown Partnership, announced that the 55th Light Up Night will be the best ever.

"Fireworks, tree lighting, music, reindeer, ice carving, window unveilings, and so much more," he said. "We're also pleased to welcome People's Gas Holiday Market back to Market Square for its fourth year."

For more information:

As the news conference continued, contractors in PPG Plaza were busy with new plans for the skating rink. By the time Nov. 20 arrives, the PPG Rink will be 25 percent larger than it was last year. To put that in perspective, that's almost twice the size of the rink at Rockefeller Center.

As for those seasonal displays in the windows of the Macy's/Kaufmann's department store, they'll be back even though the store has closed. There will be seven new displays, to go with two old-time favorites.
