Parole Violator Arrested In Beaver County

BEAVER COUNTY (KDKA) -- Allegheny County Sheriffs' deputies have captured a man who violated his parole after serving 30 years for mailing an explosive device.

Randall McFadden, 60, was arrested at Heritage Valley Hospital in Beaver County, Saturday morning. United States Marshals began searching for him after he escaped from the Renewal Center Facility in downtown Pittsburgh last month and was charged on October 8th for violating his parole.

An unidentified hunter found McFadden in the woods near Shenango Road in Chippewa County around 9:30 a.m. on Monday. McFadden was conscious, but unable to walk. Emergency medical personnel transported him to Heritage Valley Hospital, where he was admitted under an alias.

Allegheny County Sheriffs received an anonymous tip from someone who mistook McFadden for wanted sex offender William Gshinsky, who went missing in September. The sheriffs investigated and determined that the tip was incorrect, but after further questioning, McFadden admitted who he really was. He was then taken into custody and transported to the Allegheny County Jail.

He recently completed a 30-year prison sentence for sending a bomb-rigged jewelry box to a woman in New York.

While in custody, he was also charged with possessing an explosive device.
