Roethlisberger Practices, Ed Bouchette Says 'He's Got A Shot' At Playing

PITTSBURGH (93-7 The FAN) - When Ben Roethlisberger went down against the Oakland Raiders with a foot injury, there were fears his season may be lost. On Thursday though, Ben took to the practice field and there's now at least a chance he doesn't even miss a single game.

Steelers Insider Ed Bouchette joined the Starkey and Mueller Show for his weekly spot on Thursdays at 4:06 p.m. and said the chances of Ben getting on the field are getting better and better as the week progresses.

"I think he's got a shot, I really do," Bouchette said about Roethlisberger's chances of playing against the Cleveland Browns. "His practice today (Thursday), it's the first time he practiced. That foot, we'll see how it reacts. You remember he was practicing that one week before he came back from the knee issue and it reacted poorly and then he didn't play. If this reacts OK, why wouldn't you play him?"

With this Sunday's game being against the 2-7 Browns, Starkey and Mueller asked Ed if the opponent will go into determining whether or not Ben will play, regardless of the health of his foot.

"I don't think so," Ed said. "Although we saw in 2012, it did. He played against San Francisco with a bad ankle, didn't play well and then they shut him down the following week against St. Louis at home and St. Louis wasn't good that year and they beat them without him."
