Steelers Renew Agreement At Training Complex, Honor Rooney With Name

PITTSBURGH (KDKA/AP) - The Pittsburgh Steelers are giving their training facility a makeover.

The team announced Tuesday it has renewed its agreement with the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center that will keep the franchise in the facility along the Monongahela River for another 15 years.

The facility is also being renamed the UPMC Rooney Sports Complex in honor of Steelers chairman and Pro Football Hall of Famer Dan Rooney.

The new deal also includes plans to expand the weight room, update the training room while also redesigning the front lobby and giving additional space to staff members.

The Steelers first moved into the facility in 2000 and they share it with the University of Pittsburgh football team.
