Drunk Intruder Makes Tentative Plea Deal

CONNELLSVILLE (KDKA) -- He had too much to drink, stumbled into the wrong house and into bed with two teenage girls. Thursday, a local man's attorney said he never had any bad intentions, and now just wants to put it all behind him.

The problems began for 21-year-old Kenny Callahan in Connellsville when he apparently had entirely too much to drink and went into a house that wasn't his. He could have faced some serious charges, but Thursday, he cut a plea deal.

Callahan walked quietly from what was to be his preliminary hearing on charges he stumbled into a Connellsville home and into bed with two sleeping girls -- one 13-year-old and one 12-year-old.

"Let me just say, I think it was a big misunderstanding," defense attorney Shane Gannon said. "I don't think my client acted in any malicious manner."

According to court records, the girls' parents were out of town at the time.

Callahan allegedly took off all his clothes, got in bed, and inappropriately touched the girls, waking them.

According to a criminal complaint, he told the girls, "He wanted to take them home."

When police arrived on scene after the girls fled the home, they found Callahan lying naked in the downstairs basement. Police also said he was "extremely intoxicated, he could not speak or answer simple questions." They also said he "couldn't say where he was nor how he ended up in the house."

"Today, we reached a tentative plea deal for probation, and my client is happy to get this process going and hopefully put behind him," Gannon said.

Callahan initially faced criminal trespass and indecent exposure counts.

"At this point, it was a one-off thing," Gannon said. "A young kid, it was a misunderstanding."

The victims parents declined any comment except to say that they were moving on.
