Impressive New Holiday Lights Show Comes To Big Butler Fairgrounds

PROSPECT, Pa. (KDKA) -- Did you know there's a new holiday light show in our area?

It's called Shadrack's Christmas Wonderland, and it's set up at the Big Butler Fairgrounds.

It takes about a half hour to drive through the display. Millions of lights are synchronized to music you can hear on your car radio.

"This has been an awesome light show," said Gretchen Kelley from Harrisville. "The kids loved it."

The Shadrack family has shows in Charlotte, Birmingham, Greenville, and Ashville, to name a few locations. But this their first venture in the North.

Jack Cohen, from the Butler County Tourism Bureau, gave them a call after a board member saw one of those displays down South.

"I called them and said, "Hey, do ever think about coming up North?'" he said.

After visiting the site, the Shadrack folks have now been signed to a five-year contract, according to Cohen.

There's also an opportunity to meet Santa before you leave.

Admission to see the lights is $25 a car, with some of that going to charity. The show runs through Jan. 3.
