Blue Buffalo Recalls Dog Treat Over Salmonella Concerns

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Pet food makers Blue Buffalo have issued a recall for dog chews over salmonella contamination concerns.

Just weeks after the nationwide salmonella outbreak at Chipotle, the FDA announced the dog food recall due to the same worries.

The recalled product is called the "Wilderness Wild Chew" bones. The UPC code on it is 840243110087, and it has an expiration date of Nov. 4, 2017.

They're sold at PetSmart stores.

Pets with salmonella infections can experience symptoms of decreased appetite, fever and abdominal pain.
