Close Call For Kids In Stroller After Ross Twp. Shoplifting Incident

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Two women, who police said were seen on store surveillance cameras stealing clothes from the Kohl's department store on McKnight Road in Ross Twp., face multiple charges after an incident Monday night in the Kohl's parking lot.

Ross Police were called to the Kohl's around 5:20 p.m. Monday.

Ross Detective Brian Kohlhepp says the women were followed out of the store by a security officer after they were seen stealing clothes, and as they were backing out of a parking spot in front of the store, "the car struck the officer, who was banging on the huge car window because there was a mom walking by with two small children in a stroller."

The kids were 3-years-old and 2-months-old. Kohlhepp says luckily, no one was seriously hurt. The car hit the stroller, but it did not push it over, and there were no other cars coming out at the time.

The suspects were driving a white older model Ford.

Besides the retail theft charges, the two women, when and if arrested, face additional charges of reckless endangerment and endangering the welfare of children.

Anyone with information on their identities should call Ross Police.
