WalletHub Ranks Pittsburgh As Sixth Best College Town In U.S.

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Pittsburgh is a pretty good college town.

That's according to a new WalletHub study that ranks the Steel City sixth on their list of the 2015 Best & Worst College Cities & Towns in America.

The list ranks 326 U.S. cities and towns "that promise the best combination of academic, social and economic opportunities for students."

WalletHub used metrics like education quality, crime rates and cost of living to create the rankings.

Pittsburgh ranks No. 1 for the number of nightlife options per capita.

Ann Arbor, Michigan took the top overall spot on the list. College Station in Texas, Iowa City in Iowa, Provo in Utah and Gainesville in Florida round out the top five on the list.

Next is Pittsburgh.

Also in our area, Erie comes in at No. 113 on the list. Across the state, Philadelphia ranks in at No. 91.
