Dunlap: A Pittsburgh Christmas List

Holiday time.

Time to get those letters off to Santa Claus --- you know the ones, the letters letting the fat guy at the North Pole know exactly what you'd like him to leave under the tree. Well, after thinking about it a little bit, I've arrived at what some prominent people in our city's sports landscape just might have written down on their lists.

Here goes …

Mike Tomlin: Certainly not a Thesaurus. He seems to have one of those. Obviously. But finding his way into the playoffs, for sure.

Ray Searage: Some more broken toys to fix.

Beau Bennett, Ryan Shazier and Maurkice Pouncey: Lower health care deductibles.

Ben Roethlisberger: A dependable defense to go along with that brilliant offense he's commanding.

Jamie Dixon: An NCAA tournament run. A serious one. It's about time.

Andrew McCutchen: A commitment from ownership to put some pieces around him.

Bengals fans: Class. How do you cheer when there are injured players down on the turf like you did this weekend?

Jim Colony: Natural Light. He loves the stuff. And I don't understand how. But he's 60 now, so there's no talking him out of it.

Johnny Manziel: Anonymity.

Sidney Crosby: A return to being Sidney Crosby. Will that ever happen? Who knows. But there's no question he wants it.

Jerry Sandusky: Reality.

De'Angelo Williams: A life vest --- to symbolize just how much he saved the season for these Pittsburgh Steelers.

Evgeni Malkin: Some ice to apply to his back --- which is incredibly sore from having to put the team on it to this point in the season.

Antonio Brown. Nothing. Doesn't this man have it all? We say that about some people, but it strikes me that Antonio Brown just might have everything.

Marc-Andre Fleury: A clear head. Literally.

Jim Ferry: For people to actually pay attention to Duquesne basketball for the right reasons. He's doing it so far this season.

James Conner: Our prayers.

Cleveland: Relevance.

Clint Hurdle: Chewing gum. And a fourth and fifth starter. And a real first baseman. And the owner to come up off his wallet some more.

Bob Nutting: Snow. The Pirates owner could sure use some (more) cash from the revenue generated from the ski industry he's involved in to (hopefully) buy a free agent to bring in here. Although, is that going to really happen? Will a big-time free agent come walking in that door? We will see. I'll believe it when I see it.

Vontze Burfict: Some class. The next time Burfict acts with any class will be the first time.

Neal Huntington: The OK from Bob Nutting to actually spend some money.

Mike Sullivan: The Penguins playing like the Penguins are supposed to play.

Mike Johnston: A job.

Jacoby Jones: Hands.

Pirates fans: Patience. Or something. That's what they are telling us.

Neil Walker: A new wardrobe.

Sean Rodriguez: A new Gatorade cooler. And maybe some hits -- to something that isn't a Gatorade cooler.
