Sharon Police Warn Public About Recent Phone Scam

SHARON, Pa. (KDKA) -- Sharon Police want to warn residents about a recent phone scam.

Sharon Police say multiple residents have reported receiving a phone call saying they won the Publishers Clearing House Sweepstakes, and they were asked to provide their social security number and bank information in order to receive their $5 million prize.

Police say Publishers Clearing House never notifies winners over the phone, and you should never provide anyone your personal information via phone.

No Sharon residents have been reported as falling victim to the scam. If you receive one of these phone calls, hang up.
