Ramon Foster: We Let Baltimore Have Life With Mistakes

PITTSBURGH (93-7 The Fan) – Steelers guard Ramon Foster joined "The Fan Morning Show" for his regular weekly spot on Tuesday, coming off of the team's 20-17 loss to the Baltimore Ravens.

"We gave them hope, and to their credit, they played a good game too. But, when you're playing against a team that doesn't have anything to lose, and they want to do anything they can to ruin your season, you can't let them have life. And we let them have life by the mistakes we made," Foster said.

Foster said that it was very frustrating to be tripped up on Ben Roethlisberger's foot on the 4th-and-1 play during the team's opening drive, which resulted in a turnover on downs.

"Me pulling and me getting tripped up right there, it would've been a key block on that play. Football happens," Foster said. "There's other plays that happened before then that could have put us in a first down, but that play's highlighted more because of situational football and it was 4th-and-1. We make that, we probably go down and score. That right there swung the momentum and they went down and got seven points."

Foster said that the Steelers can't afford another letdown.

"This is a game that has a lot of implications in it for us. We can't drop an egg. Cleveland's going to do everything they can to make sure that we don't play our game. And that's the most important thing for us is playing our game. We can't play down to anybody or think they're going to let us win," Foster said.

The Steelers need to beat the Browns while also needing a New York Jets loss to the Buffalo Bills to make the playoffs. Will the players be scoreboard watching during the game?

"I think everybody has to be focused on beating the Browns. Everything else will take care of itself after that. We can't ask for too much else, because heck, we put ourselves in this position starting at the beginning of the season. We can't drop games like that or give guys layups, and that's what we've done," Foster said.
