Man Charged With Pulling Gun On 2 Teens & Taking Hoverboard

ALIQUIPPA (KDKA) – A Beaver County man was arrested in connection with the armed robbery of two teens over the weekend.

The incident happened in the 300-block of Woodrow Street in Aliquippa just before midnight on Saturday, the day after Christmas.

Two teens, ages 14 and 17, were riding a hoverboard when they were approached by 19-year-old Raequan Wannamaker.

Police say Wannamaker was dressed all in black and had a ski mask covering his face. The victims told police that the suspect pulled out a gun and pointed it at the 14-year-old's head, then stomach, and then demanded the hoverboard.

Police say Wannamaker grabbed the hoverboard and ran off.

As officers were responding, police saw the suspect walking down the street. Police say he struggled with them and tried to ditch a loaded .32-caliber handgun under a nearby car.

Police also say he also had a black ski mask.

Wannamaker has been in trouble before. Last spring, he was arrested after police say he brought a gun into Aliquippa High School.

Police say he came to school late, bypassed the metal detectors, and tried to hide the gun in some bleachers in the gym.

At the time, Wannamaker told police he didn't intend to shoot anyone.

In this latest incident, Wannamaker is facing several felony charges including robbery, aggravated assault and gun violation charges.
