Pittsburghers Battle Coldest Weather Of Season

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) - The coldest temperatures we've seen since March of last year arrived Tuesday. With temperatures in the teens and below this morning, Pittsburghers were bundling up.

As soon as you stepped outside, you could feel the chill. For Andrew Randel, who bikes into work daily, the forecast had him rethinking his commute.

"I wasn't too eager to get up. I thought I was going to take the bus this morning, but I decided it's cold downtown anyways so I might as well build up some sweat while you're waiting in the cold," Randel said.

Some said they're okay with temperatures hitting single digits because they knew a cold snap would come after the second warmest December on record.

"[I'm not] complaining because we had pretty good weather the last couple weeks. Cold doesn't bother me. You see, I have my hat on so I'm ready for it," Jay Mosley said.

Still there are some who can't wait for the next few months to breeze by.

"The winter months and the cold weather is bone chilling. I hate it," Rhonda Holland said.

There is good news. Temperatures are expected to climb back into the 40's later this week.
