Ramon Foster: Saturday's Game Is About A Lot More Than Pride

PITTSBURGH (93-7 The Fan) – Steelers offensive lineman Ramon Foster joined "The Fan Morning Show" for his regular weekly spot Tuesday, and offered his thoughts on the impending playoff showdown against the Bengals on Saturday.

Foster is thrilled to be getting another shot at the Bengals after the teams split a ferocious season series.

"Santa Claus is real," Foster said. "Because we asked for it, and we got it. So, there it is, kids- always believe."

Foster stressed that it's important for the Steelers to not allow the bad blood to blind them.

"We've got to play our game, first and foremost," Foster said. "We can't go in there with any kind of agenda, or trying to make a statement, and not play our game. We have to play our type of football."

For Foster, while the record books show one win for each team in the season series, he really felt like his team was the one that came out on top.

"The split was good," Foster said. "I thought the split was in our favor, but this third time, we'll see how it goes. You know, the saying is it's hard to beat a team three times. Well, on that split series, I guess you would say it's a toss-up, but I want to favor us."

After the Bengals clearly made a concerted attempt to rile up the Steelers last time the two teams met, Foster isn't quite sure what to expect this time around.

"I've kind of actually thought about that," Foster said. "I'm like, okay, well if this happened last time, then what do we have in store for us this next coming time when we visit them? So, I'm waiting to see what they're going to do. Whatever it is, the game is played when we kick it off...all that goes out the window [like] we saw last time."

Plus, as Foster points out, playoff football doesn't need any added juice, given what's at stake.

"The extra stuff means nothing," Foster said. "It helps build the adrenaline, and gets guys going. So, I don't think much of that will be needed this week. There are a lot of implications. I'm not trying to go home yet. I'm enjoying this ride. I want to take it to San Francisco."

Foster joins "The Fan Morning Show" every Tuesday at 8 a.m.
