Former Plum H.S. Teacher Accused Of Sex With Student May Face More Charges

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) - A former Plum High School teacher accused of having sex with his student is now under investigation for allegedly violating his bond by driving past the victim's home.

A witness, who lives on the same street as the alleged victim in the case, said she saw Jason Cooper drive past the home on Dec. 23.

Cooper was arrested last February on the sex charges. Prosecutors allege the former teacher gave the teen alcohol and allowed her to sleep in his bed.

He was charged again two weeks later with intimidating the witness after he allegedly made contact with her, even though he was told not to.

The 38-year-old is currently on house arrest and wears an electronic monitoring device. He's allowed to go on work release, but it's unclear if he's working right now. He resigned from his teaching position shortly after the sex charges were filed.

Today, Plum Borough's police chief confirmed that detectives spoke with the woman who said she saw Cooper drive by the victim's home.

He said his department has been working with the Allegheny County District Attorney's Office to see if new charges should be filed.

Cooper faces trial next month on the other charges.
