Get Marty: Confidential Informant Gets Reward For Leading Police To Shooting Suspect

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- The Pittsburgh Police reached out to Get Marty with a very special request.

"We need you to raise $5,000 for us to help us solve the shooting of an innocent woman," said Pittsburgh Police Homicide Detective George Satler.

Police say Denise Golden was walking home from work in the Knoxville section of the city in late July.

According to police, a suspect looking for a "thrill kill" shot her in the chest for no reason.

"I was declared dead twice," says Golden.

Police released a surveillance video to the media but no one came forward.

Once our Get Marty team was able to raise the $5,000 reward, police got a tip from an informant. Officers arrested 19-year-old Raymon Brown a few days later.

"I wanted to get him off the streets," said the confidential informant.

KDKA-TV'S Marty Griffin handed the informant the $5,000 inside Pittsburgh Police Headquarters.

"This is very dangerous. My heart is beating out of my chest," said the informant.

Police say without the reward money the crime may not have been solved. The $5,000 reward was donated by two small business owners who wish to remain anonymous.
