Eagles Guitarist Glenn Frey Dead At 67

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) - Glenn Frey, a founding member of the Eagles and guitarist, has died at the age of 67.

A statement posted on the band's official website reports that Frey succumbed to complications from rheumatoid arthritis, ulcerative colitis, and pneumonia.

"The Frey family would like to thank everyone who joined Glenn to fight this fight and hoped and prayed for his recovery," the statement said. "Words can neither describe our sorrow, nor our love and respect for all that he has given to us, his family, the music community & millions of fans worldwide."

The Eagles last played in Pittsburgh in 2013.

The celebrity website TMZ.com was the first to report the news of Frey's death.
