Police Arrest Man In Perry North Murder & Robbery

PERRY NORTH (KDKA)- A man is behind bars in connection with a deadly shooting in the Perry North neighborhood.

Back on Jan. 20, police say Bronson Waite was shot and killed inside his home in the 3900 block of Vinceton Street.

Police were called to the area for a shots fired report. When officers searched the street, they didn't find any victims. The next day, Waite's family went to the home to check on him. His father found him lying dead in the living room.

Waite was shot four times. Police say the suspect stole several items from the home including a Microsoft Xbox One, a Ruger semi-automatic pistol, a Walther .22-caliber pistol, an Apple iPad, two surveillance cameras and a cell phone.

"Materialistic things, is it really worth you know, murdering somebody for? Those people have to bury their son now, I just feel so bad. They were here yesterday and their trash is out there now and like I said, it's horrible that things had to result in this," Jenna McFetridge, a neighbor said. "I don't think anybody's born evil."

On Wednesday, police arrested 21-year-old Daron Clark for the murder. He was booked into the Allegheny County Jail on charges of criminal homicide, robbery and conspiracy.

According to the criminal complaint, a witness told police that they went with Clark to Waite's home last week to buy marijuana. The next day, the witness said Clark called and said he planned on going to rob Waite.

Clark allegedly told the witness, "I need some money and I'm stressing."

Police were able to locate Clark by using the stolen cell phone to track its location. Police served a search warrant at a home in the 3900 block of Superior Avenue in the Marshall-Shadeland neighborhood.

According to the criminal complaint, Clark ran out of the back door of the home carrying the stolen .22-caliber pistol. During the search, police found the stolen items from Waite's home.
