Sofia Vergara Praises Sarris Candies In People Magazine

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) - Actor Joe Manganiello recently visited kids at Children's Hospital. A native of Mount Lebanon, the movie star is a Pittsburgh guy at heart.

Turns out his new bride, actress Sofia Vergara of Colombia, is also getting hooked. The current issue of People Magazine reports that her favorite treat is chocolate pretzels, made by Sarris Candies of Canonsburg.

"We were so excited to see the issue come out," said co-owner Athena Sarris Simms. "And once it hits the newsstands, you know, with social media these days. It's on Instagram, on Facebook, it's on Twitter. We are thrilled to be part of this."

"Chocolate covered pretzels, but in dark chocolate," customer Connie Miller says, taking a bite. "Because dark chocolate's good for you."

Gerri Restivo is buying chocolate covered pretzels for her daughter's boyfriend.

"He said they're the only kind that he wants. So it's his birthday, and that's what I'm getting him," Restivo said.

That's the same rationale Joe Mangiello used when he shared those Sarris pretzels with Sofia.

"I'm a huge fan of hers," Athena says. "And I'm also a huge fan of Joe Mangianello."

And it turns out the stars are huge fans of a candy store in Canonsburg.
