Pittsburgh Native, 'Queen Of Snapchat' Model Katie May Dies After Fall At Photo Shoot

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Model and self-proclaimed queen of Snapchat Katie May has passed away after suffering a stroke that was brought on by a photo shoot fall.

The 34-year-old was hospitalized on Monday when a blockage in her artery caused a stroke according to TMZ.

May remained in critical condition until she was taken off life support Thursday night.

The accident reportedly happened last week while shooting in Los Angeles.

Katie posted on Twitter that the neck pain was so bad she had to go to a hospital to get checked out.

TMZ says doctors told Katie's family the tear caused a blood clot which broke off and caused her stroke Monday.

May was known for her large social media following, she modeled for Playboy Magazine, and Sports Illustrated.

She has nearly two-million followers on Instagram.

She reportedly grew up in Pittsburgh. In an interview (warning: graphic photos) with The Guy Society in November she said, "It's a great place to grow up. Everybody who's from there is very proud to be from there. They love their sports teams."

May also said her parents are both teachers in Pittsburgh.
